Cheetah Transformation at Smartsheet Engage 2025

We’ve been at ENGAGE 2025 in Seattle to hear all of the new innovations Smartsheet have to offer - and this year, it’s a big one! Here’s our round-up of the latest announcements, insights and ideas shaping the year ahead.

Smartsheet is keen to be at the forefront of the AI movement, announcing a plethora of new features set to revolutionise the Smartsheet platform.

In this blog, we’ll take you through the new and exciting announcements from the keynote speech, the Global Partner Summit and what the Cheetah team and our customers got up to at the event.

Keynote Highlights

As 5,000 Smartsheet users descended on Seattle, they were greeted by new CEO Rajeev Singh (pictured) who was keen to discuss the direction of Smartsheet and how the company is about to make some big changes in line with changing technologies.

It’s clear now that the AI tidal wave isn’t going to slow down, delegates were told, and companies are going to have to lean into the new technology to ensure they don’t get left behind.

Rajeev outlined how his previous companies had adapted by embracing new technology in the past, and that Smartsheet is prepared to make the latest ‘big bet’ on integrating AI tools to improve the platform, particularly in the advancement of transparency and accountability – both massively important to Smartsheet.

Rajeev may have only been in the role for fewer than 30 days, but his speech was full of confidence and passion with a clear plan for the future.

His vision for the platform is to transform Smartsheet from a work management tool into the intelligent work management platform for enterprise execution.

Rajeev keynote

As we listened, several themes emerged:

  • The rise of intelligent work management – Smartsheet is no longer just a project tracker. With embedded AI, Smart Flows, and a Knowledge Graph connecting people, work, and data, the platform is evolving into a true intelligent work platform.
  • Coming out of the shadows – Some still see Smartsheet as ‘just a sophisticated spreadsheet’. But Rajeev made it clear: Smartsheet is enterprise-grade, strategic infrastructure.

  • Why now is the right time – With AI adoption accelerating and organisations seeking smarter ways to execute at scale, Smartsheet is perfectly positioned to deliver measurable impact.
  • Transparency and accountability – Rajeev addressed the user subscription model challenges head-on, emphasising the need for honest dialogue with customers. This commitment builds trust while signalling a fresh era of leadership.

The company is keen to make sure its AI tools are as responsible as possible, with Chief Product Officer, Pratima Arora, telling delegates: “Responsible AI is a core principle of the AI solutions we are building. We are committed to that transparency, so you’ll always see where AI is at work.”

With that in mind, we’re certain the new AI announcements hold massive potential to make your Smartsheet work so much quicker and easier!

The AI roll-out has been announced to streamline the workflow experience and provide a faster and easier time for everyone, with ease and simplicity in mind all the way.

The new AI features include:

  • Smart Assist – a revolutionary feature that acts as an entry point into your AI needs on Smartsheet. This is where you can have conversations with your Smartsheet and ask questions about your work and recommendations for streamlining it. It’s there to offer you advice and can even create your project for you, after you’ve outlined the parameters!
  • Smart Agent – this is your digital co-worker on Smartsheet. Like any great co-worker, it will have your back and if anything looks off with your project, it will notify you and even offer a suggested solution for you to make sure you stay on schedule.
  • Smart Flows takes care of some of the more repetitive tasks in the day-to-day workflow and allows you to focus your time and effort on other things. If you need to update your team every week, Smart Flows can worry about asking your team for an update, summarising all of them into one page and sending it out to every person, every week, so you don’t have to!
  • Smart Hub – the hub where you keep all your new AI helpers in check, enabling you to control how much, or how little, AI you want to use.
  • Knowledge Hub – An intelligence layer that links knowledge across the organisation to make information actionable.

Other developments released included:

  • Scenario planning – this allows you to plan a strategy ahead of time and explore different ‘what-if’ scenarios, so there’s no nasty surprises with your project at a more critical time.
  • Dynamic dropdown – this long-awaited feature has finally been added to workflows after much demand. It allows you to pull information from different lists as opposed to typing the same information into a new list every time.
  • Dynamic Dashboards – giving you the ability to filter dashboards interactively to surface relevant information.
  • New Table View – this will be fully operational from early 2026 and will be optimised for speed and large datasets.

It all adds up to an exciting time for Cheetah Transformation and Smartsheet, putting us at the cutting edge of technology, providing the best product possible.

Rajeev’s vision of becoming a brain working alongside users is a thrilling prediction of the future and one that doesn’t seem far off.

Hearing from Cheetah customers

We were delighted to be joined in Seattle by Sam Fowler from c2c Railway. Commenting on his time at ENGAGE, Sam, pictured below with our MD Rob, said:

“I’ve absolutely loved the experience: getting to plan and connect face-to-face with the Cheetah team, meeting so many passionate users. Being able to both see and challenge Smartsheet on their ambitious roadmap. It’s been brilliant realising how advanced our own set-up already is, and the whole ‘big US conference’ energy has been inspiring. I’m heading home really energised about what’s next.”

It was also a great chance for us to film a customer story with c2c Railway – which we’ll be sharing with you shortly.

Global partner summit

The week began with the Global Partner Summit hosted by Scott Strubel, Head of Americas Partnerships, and headlined by Eva Schönleitner, VP of Worldwide Partnerships.

The partner summit is always a highlight of ENGAGE and this year was no exception. The sessions provided a deep dive into Smartsheet’s planned improvements and gave partners actionable insights for the year ahead.

The session highlighted the growing strength of the Smartsheet partner network and offered updates from the global leadership team. Attendees learned about Smartsheet’s ongoing investment in collaboration, AI-driven insights and scalable enterprise solutions.

We took a closer look at the upcoming AI innovations with talks from JB Brown, Smartsheet’s VP of Engineering and John Novak, VP of Product Marketing.

We then joined breakout sessions before enjoying a partner awards dinner in the evening at AQUA by El Gaucho. Congratulations to all the winners. Everyone who attended agreed it was a fun-filled evening!

Cheetah team at the event

Of course, when travelling to the US from the UK, it’s important to build in a little out-of-work time for adventure. So, the Cheetah team arrived on the Friday before ENGAGE, giving us two days to explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the coastal town of Anacortes.

We enjoyed several walks in the region, including the Sugar Loaf and Mount Erie Loop, and the Deception Pass Bridge and Lottie Point Loop, before driving through Whidbey Island and taking the ferry over to Seattle. It was a nice way for the team to relax and prepare for the conference.
